Dr. Anil Nanda, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at LSU Health Sciences Center - Shreveport, served as the honored William S. Keith Visiting Professor for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Lecture at Toronto Western Hospital in Toronto, Canada on May 31 – June 1, 2010.
Dr. Nanda delivered three talks: “Is the art of surgical clipping of cerebral aneurysms facing extinction?”, “Curiosity, Compassion, and Composure,” and “The unbearable lightness of honesty in neurosurgical complications.” He discussed the anatomy and indication of using the skull base approach and covered complications in neurosurgery through pictures and videos.
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Lecturers are world renowned neurosurgeons. Past visiting professors include Professor J. Hernesniemi of Helsinki, Finland; Professor J. Brotchi of Brussels, Belgium; and Professor A. Kaye of Melbourne, Australia.
