Neurosurgery Department Hosts Annual Levy Conference, Honors Graduating Residents.
The Department of Neurosurgery held it’s fourteenth annual Levy Conference on Friday, April 7, 2017.
Dr. Anil Nanda, Department Chair, warmly welcomed world-renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Frederick A. Boop, who gave a lecture on his experience with pediatric brain tumors and the growing need for worldwide neurosurgical care. His lecture was entitled “Give a Man a Fish.” There were over two hundred twenty in attendance including Robert Levy and Anne Kantor, the children of the late Ben and Mary Louise Levy for whom the conference is named.
Dr. Boop also sat in and shared his thoughts for several resident case presentations.
Along with Dr. Boop, the graduating neurosurgery residents, Doctors Marc Manix and Menarvia Nixon were honored at a dinner at Dr. Nanda’s residence. Both residents are about to complete their seven-year residency in neurosurgery. Dr. Manix will be moving to Brawley, CA and beginning a private practice. Dr. Nixon will be joining Merit Health in Jackson, MS.
