The Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center- Department of Neurosurgery in conjunction with Northwestern State University Nursing is hosting the Neuro Update 2010, a one-day continuing education course on Saturday, October 2nd, from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Shreveport Convention Center, located on 400 Caddo Street, Shreveport, Louisiana.

Dr. Anil Nanda, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at LSU Health Sciences Center - Shreveport, served as the honored William S. Keith Visiting Professor for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Lecture at Toronto Western Hospital in Toronto, Canada on May 31 – June 1, 2010.

Dr. Anil Nanda, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at LSU Health Sciences Center - Shreveport, was elected President of the Society of University Neurosurgeons at the SUN Annual Meeting in Miami, Florida on March 24, 2010.

The featured speaker, Dr. Steven Giannotta, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Sourthern California Keck School of Medicine, delivered a presentation titled, "Cranial Base Approaches for Intracranial Aneurysms: Historical Perspectives and Current Concepts."

Dr. Anil Nanda, M.D., Chairman and Professor of the Department of Neurosurgery at LSU Health Sciences Center at Shreveport, was honored lecturer at the Mayo Clinic Department of Neurosurgery, in Rochester, Minnesota, where he was Visiting Professor on January 18, 2010.
